Blessing was born on 15 January 2009 to a lady who lived on the streets in KweKwe, a small town in central Zimbabwe. Her first six months were very difficult as her mum had HIV/Aids and was very sick.
We found Blessing hours from death in City Hospital Harare after her mum had passed away. She was six months old and weighed 1.7 kgs as well as in great pain and full of sores. She was and is a very quiet little girl that loves to be cuddled and kissed. She responds best in a one on one situation and loves to play with her dollies/babies and loves to tie the babies to her back. She also loves to have stories read to her and is a great listener. She plays well with Grace and Hope and follows them around while exerting her own rules when things don’t go her way!
She loves pizza and we only discovered this last weekend after she ate four big slices! She also loves ice cream, is a great runner and loves to race the other children. She also likes to colour and paint pictures and can tell you the story very clearly!
Blessing is a wonderful little girl, quick to smile and laugh and loves to have fun with her sisters. She's a beautiful child that lives up to her name - what a blessing she is!
Can you help?
We would ask you to pray and think if you would like to be involved in Blessing's life. We are seeking to build an education fund which will enable us to send her to a top school here in Harare and give her a chance to excel. We have been talking to one of the best schools in Harare, a Christian school with a great history and we believe our children should attend this school. The Principal has agreed to provide us with a bursary for our children and instead of costing US$4800 per term, ( this is actually the cost of 1st term in the 1st year only ) the actual cost will be US$750 and the following 2 terms $300 each! As you can see this is a huge saving and we thank God for moving on our behalf and granting us favour with the school.
If you think you would like to get involved with us in sponsoring Blessing for school, please send us an email with "Blessing" in the subject box, you can sponsor any amount on a monthly, per term or annual basis.
Thank you for reading this. We look forward to hearing from you, as you can see from Blessing's birthday she is still one year away from school age but we are trying to build a fund to see what type of school we can send her to as we want her to have as great an opportunity as we can provide but we don’t know what the fees will be when she actually starts school.
We will put all monies received into her personal fund and it will not be used for any other purpose.
Zimbabwe Orphan Care update (Jan. 25, 2016):
Due to a recent review of our global online presence on social media, and following updated legal direction from local government authorities regarding images of children online, we have taken the decision to remove all pictures of the children in Jabulani. We know you will understand the reasoning behind this move and appreciate your support and continued prayer for our work.
